The Magicard Sicura laminating station applies a tough clear polyester overlaminate onto PVC ID cards. The material is applied to the face of the printed PVC card using a heated roller system.
When used in-line with the Rio or Tango printer, the Sicura™ feed hopper is positioned inside the printer’s aperture, and printed cards drop straight into the Sicura™ feed hopper. When used with the Turbo series, the feed hopper is not needed.

The UltraShield™ polyester film is immensely tough, surviving several thousand swipes through a Magnetic stripe reader and many years of use in Driver’s license type applications. Compared to the basic clear acrylic overcoat which is applied by dye-sub printers directly from the dye ribbon, the UltraShield material is over 25 times thicker, made from a more robust polyester material. The standard UltraShield™ overlaminate film is clear, but films with special embedded hologram like OVD images are also available for enhanced security.
The Sicura™ output stacker will hold up to 100 laminated cards of .030” thickness, and the entire overlaminating path is clearly visible through the clear acrylic cover.
